FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

“Group Project Initiatives Launches 15TGAF: A Groundbreaking 15-Minute Activism Initiative”

TORONTO, ON, September 26, 2024 — Today, Group Project Initiatives (GPI) announces the launch of 15 to Give a F*, a bold, accessible initiative designed to empower people in Canada to make a meaningful impact on today’s most pressing social issues. Born out of GPI’s commitment to social justice and community-driven change, 15TGAF transforms overwhelming social issues into 15-minute sessions, that inspire learning, reflection, and action. 15TGAF is designed to make activism accessible, actionable, and manageable for everyone, especially Millennials and Gen Z, who often feel overwhelmed by the scope of global challenges and crises.

“We’ve always believed that changing the world is a group project. But to get people involved, especially those caught in the grind of late-stage capitalism, we need to meet them where they are,” said Samanta Krishnapillai, Founder and CEO of Group Project Initiatives and On Canada Project. “Look, we all know the world feels like a dumpster fire, especially right now. But we’ve seen what happens when people unite to fight disinformation and systems of oppression. 15TGAF gives people a simple, effective way to do their part—even if they only have 15 minutes.”

How it works:

15TGAF breaks down complex issues like climate justice, racial inequality, and housing crises into easy, actionable steps. Its unique approach allows anyone to get informed, reflect on the issue, and take tangible action—all in just 15 minutes. Unlike traditional activism, which can often feel daunting or inaccessible, 15TGAF empowers individuals to make an impact, no matter how busy their schedule. The easy-to-navigate platform breaks it down into four choose-your-own-activation options:

  1. Perception Shift: A space to reflect and challenge your thinking on complex social issues.

  2. Courageous Conversations: A toolkit to start, and continue hard conversations when they come up with friends, colleagues, and family.

  3. Take Action: Easy ways to engage in quick, impactful actions—whether it’s signing a petition, donating, or advocating.

  4. Learn More: Resources to help you dive deeper into topics with curated resources to expand your understanding for when you want to give it more than 15 minutes.
